Pete, I know you asked me months ago if I'd be doing any animation in Thea. I was going to use flightpath.rb and the follow the same workflow in Thea, but. I then put the rendered scenes into GoCubic. You just run the script and walk away and let Thea do its thing for however long - but you don't have to be there while it does it (e.g., overnight). The big deal here is that nige generously clued me into Kerkythea scripts that allow me to do "automatic" BSD rendering of multiple scenes from cubicpanout.rb in Thea. I tried using pano2vr for the cubicpanout output, but have not yet figured out what settings to use for a "non-overlapping" set of pictures. Since I'll be using both SU models and photo panoramas, for virtual tours I've settled on the following:įor SU models I'm using cubicpanout.rb, then Thea and, finally, GoCubic. Since I've never done that before I had to get smart really quick on software and techniques (nothing like pressure to motivate learning ) I am really, really interested in this because I have just been commissioned to do a big project to provide virtual tours and "fly-over/around" scenes. I just got a Thea app but I have not given it a try yet, do you know where I can get animation/texture displacement.tutorials as they got only some tutorials on their web site but not all and I saw a lot of your amazing rendered works of using this app, wow! It seems not much vid tutorials about this, found only one or two on youtube? Now I am thinking is it possible to use object2vr app to show external building with 12 or 24.rendered scene images to create movie?īut based on what you said it doesn't work in term of controlling reflection interact each other, right? I find pano2vr app is a quick way to show internal result, just one spherical rendered image and good enough to create the movie. Twilight is my app, I have never done animation before because of lengthy rendering time required that scares me the most, some people said take a few days to render and produce only a few seconds movie! What rendering app are you intending to use? I used Thea render, and created the animation path 12 seconds, 30 degrees each second, 15 frames per second. The thing is you need to rotate the product, not the camera that way the reflections interact and give a better sense of you controlling the rotation at the end. I am using 120 renders, this is to be used on an ipad for product interaction. ![]() Solo wrote:Strangely enough I am busy doing two of these exact projects at the moment. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This ability to connect anyone, including patients, coupled with its ability to be implemented quickly by facilities of any size and any number of users, allows Backline to enable what DrFirst calls “healthcare without walls.”ĭeemer explains that “Backline allows healthcare providers to extend their care beyond the walls of a hospital, doctor’s office, or clinic, to anywhere the patient is.” Backline also enables e-forms and e-signatures to complete and manage forms, which often is an invisible but essential part of care delivery, according to Fischer. “What makes Backline so valuable in any healthcare setting is that it is a robust and comprehensive care collaboration platform, not simply a telehealth solution,” says Fischer, who spent over 20 years as a CIO for a hospital in New York.ĭeveloped with the needs of healthcare providers at its core, Backline is a four-in-one solution that provides HIPAA-compliant secure communications for telehealth, messages, clinical communications, and e-prescribing. I'm pretty sure the "killer" open source image editing application isn't going to be the GIMP - although it might use a lot of it's underlying code (which might be okay). I've heard there's big problems with the project, and that development is seriously hampered by in-fights. No, I don't want cryptically named menus, modal dialogs everywhere, everything hidden in right-click, having to click twice to activate menus then select a tool, and the myriad of other stupid irritating interface woes the GIMP suffers from. ![]() Usually with the dismissive "you just want it to be like photoshop". The interface is still seriously kludgy - and despite users screaming for a different approach, nothing's been changed. Essential features like CMYK support were so slow in coming (read: many years) most professionals and power users simply wrote it off. I love open source software, and use it wherever I can, but I think the GIMP has been one of open-source's great disaster stories. *GNU = a type of open source software license it has nothing to do with the African savannah. Integration with a tablet can be a little bit of a hassle, but it works pretty flawlessly once you get it running (and I've never tried the same task in Photoshop, so I don't know how it compares in that regard). This sometimes creates a cluttered editing experience, but it's more an annoyance than anything. Finally, the GIMP toolbar and image editing pane open as two separate and discrete windows, rather than as subwindows within a main window (as in versions of Photoshop that I've used). This may pose a problem if you want to send your files to a professional printer, but it should not affect the average user (or the paleontologist who is usually working in grayscale images). For folks who may want to do extremely hard-core editing of color images for later printing, GIMP only supports RGB color formatting (although you can choose colors on the palette using CMYK standards). ![]() So are there any downsides to GIMP? Some users may report slow speeds, but this seems to be largely fixed in the more recent versions. ![]() There's not much more I can say - GIMP is fantastic! To be perfectly honest, I haven't missed Photoshop at all since making the switch (although I am sure Photoshop "power users" might disagree). Need to remove a black background and replace it with white? No problem. Want to rotate a portion of the image? Easy enough. It has a whole host of very functional tools for selection, touch-up, and flat-out manipulation of images. It is under very active development, and new versions and bug fixes are constantly on their way.Īs a tool for editing photographs destined for publications or presentations, you really can't beat GIMP. The closest commercial equivalent to GIMP is Adobe Photoshop - just like Photoshop, GIMP excels at editing raster images. GIMP is available for Windows, the Mac OS, and Linux. No, this is not an unfortunate slur - it's actually an acronym for "GNU Image Manipulation Program." * And what a program it is! ![]() ![]() ![]() It has hinges on one side, and a click-shut latch on the other the lid is fully removable. The box is gray/tan with a green lid, and IIRC, 10gal size. The batteries fit snugly inside the box and do not have enough space to tip over, or even move sideways much at all. I used a copy of an action packer from Walmart, as the internal size was nearly perfect for fitting 2 golf cart batteries, with almost 1 1/3" clearance above the terminals. I finished this part of my camper project today, so at least the battery box is in, and the batteries installed and connected. There is a drawback if the intake draws air from outside When it's cold out, the vent system will do a nice job of cooling the batteries, which isn't great since batteries don't work as well when they are cold. Personally, I would use an intake vent anyway, and the drain can serve double duty by also being the intake. There also might be some normal battery surface corrosion which you might want to wash off now and again. You'll have to add water to those batteries once in a while, and you might spill some. ![]() It'll just rise through the column of air in the hose.sort of like bubbles in a glass of beer rising to the top.Ī drain in the bottom is also a good idea, even if you don't need it as an air intake. So a decent WAG would be about 1 cu.' of hydrogen per hour (of charging) for a pair of 6v 225ah batteries.Ī 2" hose would likely be enough to allow that much to escape - even without a fan or intake duct. Your two 6v golf cart batteries will have a total of 6 cells (so that's 25% of what they used in their example), and also a pair of 6v 225ah batteries rigged in series to get 12v will be a 225ah bank (which is half of the number they used). Their example shows a 24 cell 450ah bank generates about 8 cu.' of hydrogen per hour of charging. They say, "motive power battery" - that's pretty much what a golf cart battery is. There is a formula for figuring out how much hydrogen batteries generate. something with a mechanical clip-on lid, for easier access to the batteries. I think these are intended for marine or exterior mounting, not inside an RV.Īnyone built their own interior battery box for 2 largish batteries, with a vent to the exterior? My thought is to use a sturdy plastic storage box from Target, Home Depot, etc. The only retail vented boxes I've found that are large enough to hold two golf cart batteries are overpriced, at $80-90ish, and don't have a vented hose out the top. To go from the single battery to a 2-battery 6V system, I either need to use two of these vented boxes, or one bigger box. I have enough cabinet space to fit two large batteries, easily. It has a screw-on lid, which is an annoyance when I want to open that box and directly connect a battery charger. The battery box has a drain hole through the floor, plus the flex hose vent out the top, which leads to an exterior vent on the camper. The 12V battery is inside a cabinet inside the camper, and vented to the exterior in a box like this one: I'm going to install two 6V golf cart batteries in my truck camper, as the 12V battery it came with is marginal. ![]() ![]() ![]() Best Peruvian coffee beans – Hinba coffee: £9.25,.Best independent coffee brand for light-roast fans – Nørlo coffee: £9.50, .uk.Best independent coffee brand for flat whites – Climpson & Sons the estate: £9,.Best independent coffee brand for espresso – Modern Standard Coffee momentum espresso: £6, .uk.Best independent coffee brand for dark-roast drinkers – Barista & Co coffee: £7.49,.Best independent coffee brand for beginners – Union roasted coffee: £8,.Best Colombian coffee beans – Hermanos coffee: £12.50,.Best independent coffee brand for moka pot brewing – Gentleman Baristas coffee: £10,.Best afternoon pick-me-up independent coffee brand – Fireheart coffee: £10.95,.Best for supporting coffee-growing communities – 92 Degrees coffee: £6.95, ffee.Best independent coffee brand overall – Batch coffee: £17.99, .uk.If in doubt, give them a ring and chat about what you like before you click and buy online.
