Since everything is in text only, the performance is extremely well. Sometimes, this could be a little annoying, but it is not a big problem. I use emoji and symbols to make a highlight. Users are not able to change font size or make highlights. Unlike other applications, users can only add text and nothing else. The app allows to add collaborators like google docs or share directly via email for people to read. This is super handy since it automatically saves your file into different versions. So if you accidentally delete content, you can always get back. Simplenote allows users to get back to previous note versions as well. And the line at the bottom will always be tagged. The first line would always be the title. Everything is saved and updated automatically. The note editor is extremely simple as well, users do not need to click any button in the editing view. Maybe this was done on purpose in order to separate the browsing experience and the search experience? Personally, I would like search to present everything related. Tags can be only accessed through the side panel. Users won’t be able to search a tag either. Yet, since users create content and search content, it is less likely for them to misspell. Miss spelling will have no result at all. However, a user’s keyword must be accurate. I found their search more convenient to use than many other apps. The search works like a filter and gives users instant result right away. There is no need to hit enter to get the result. Now I will only have 5 results on the list and I can easily find my note. So now I have both “App” and “Case study” as my keywords. So I could enter an additional note into the search bar. For example, when I typed in the keyword App, I may get 50 results and I still could not find the note that I was looking for. It does not open a new module for many other apps. When a user is typing in the search field, the current result screen will not disappear. By tapping into each of them, there is an additional navigation that allows the user to go to every spot that included the keyword in the note. In the mobile app version, the search result will show a list of notes including the keyword. They can easily access the search in the navigation bar. When users are very sure about they need. In this way, users define their own categories. The order of tags in the side panel can be customized. Multiple tags can be applied to a single note. When notes start to grow, users can browse notes, by using tags on the side panel. But you can also manually pin a note to the top. The most recent edited note would automatically be on the top. If there were not too many notes, a user can probably just find the note by navigating through the main list view. There is a couple of methods to find notes. The app’s desktop versions were built with Electron, a javascript library for cross-platform desktop apps. However, Simplenote does a better job than many other apps because it covers IOS, Android, Windows, macOS and even Linux systems. This is a common feature for a lot of apps. So users can edit their notes on all their devices. Simplenote allows users to sync their notes across multiple platforms. Here are some features that help it to be simple. A lot of five stars ratings and long reviews. The app has been receiving extremely positive feedback from the users. The navigation was super straightforward. The app felt extremely “Simple” like its name. So I decided to do an in-depth case study of the application. But I am actually taking notes with the Simplenote app 4 to 5 times a week now. In the past year, I took merely no more than 10 notes with these apps. I would rather just taking notes on paper. I have downloaded a lot of notes app in the past but seldom use them. I tried a number of them and liked Simplenote the best. A few weeks ago, the IOS app store recommended a list of note taking apps.
